The Drifter V: Indestructible
Book V of "The Drifter Series." After returning from a harrowing battle at the Edge of Darkness where Max nearly loses his life, he returns home only to find his nemesis, "The Black Widow" who is "The Black Cobras" drug Queen, is back and on a mission to destroy him by hurting the ones he loves. Not knowing who the Widow will target next, Max is in a race against time and in another battle of his life to save the people he calls 'family'.
"I stopped you for two reasons. One, you were hassling that man for no
apparent reason. And two, he would have killed you before you got that gun
out of your holster."
"Humph, yeah right! Ain't nobody that fast."
"I don't believe that was just anybody."
"What are you talking about?"
"I believe that man was the Drifter."
"The what?"
"Ooh, you're probably right! The Drifter! I knew there was something
about him. So, mysterious and calm. He took that man out with one blow." the
Indian man said excitedly.
"Who is the Drifter?" the young officer asked.
"Rumor has it that he is half man - half immortal. His legend is
spreading throughout the world." the Indian man said.
"I've heard he can't be killed." the older officer said.
"Oh, y'all trying to tell me he's indestructible?" the young officer asked.
"Did he look afraid of your gun?" the older officer asked.
They heard the roar of the Mustang's exhaust pipes and looked out the
big window as Max pulled away.
